Before you start contacting Dyno shops, better let me give you the information you'll need in order to get the results from the dyno that you want..

what all do you think can be done running the stock tune, with the stock o2 sensor in place/o2 eliminator. Could we get away with airbox, full exhaust or will it still run pretty lean?

There is no way of knowing. It is possible that lidless+full exhaust can be fueled well with the stock fueling scheme. You will have to buy the exhaust components, pull the airbox lid, and do a dyno test for an AFR, HP, and TRQ chart. Post the charts and I'll know instantly whether you have to also buy the DJ PCFC.. Or just add the PCFC and tell the dyno operator you want 12.7 - 12.9 over the entire WOT rpm range. If they will do it, have them tune medium loading operations to 13 - 13.2..

Everyone needs to burn this into their minds: Closed loop operations are mandatory for passing EPA certification. Study EPA cert testing, and you realize that it is what we call "cruising" with light accelerations..And as such, you get the side benefit of good gas mileage while cruising with extremely accurate compensation for ambient conditions and altitudes AND complete compensation for performance mods .. ALL performance operations (EFI open loop ops) are outside EPA testing and not regulated - Kawa can set whatever fueling it wants for this .. And they usually set em rich for engine safety reasons. Whenever possible, retain closed loop functioning of your EFI - no eliminators or other tampering with the O2 sensors..

WIth the 2018's , there is only one tuner made specifically for it (as far as I can find) - the DJ PCFC. So, if a tuner is required because open loop fueling is not sufficiently rich enough for lidless+ full exhaust, the PCFC will have to be bought and used - regardless of whether it retains closed loop functionality or not..

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Yoshi with the 02 tomorrow or Saturday.

Don't know if this is the right spot for this but hopefully it will add some information to the EFI dialogue.

I finally got a chance to take my bike out for a spin around the block yesterday. I installed a KLX300 exhaust and header along with the O2 eliminator. I have the snorkel removed from the airbox but the cover is still installed.

Started up fine and idled good. May have sounded like there was a lope but the revs seemed fine. Rode fine with a little decell popping in first and second gear when I just cut the throttle. Felt pretty good all round. When I got home and pulled up the the garage to open it, the bike stalled. Started it back up and stalled. It wouldn't idle at all. I could keep it running by giving it gas but it wouldn't idle.

I'm taking it off and putting the stock back on as I have a rally this weekend and while it's off, I will have a bung welded on and try it again with the O2 sensor hooked up.

I ran my new slip on without o2 sensor for about a week bike did pop a lot and would idle a little funny at first but it smoothed out after a bit. I added the o2 bung a few days ago and it runs a lot better now, definitely need to get a tune. May try to pull air box lid see how it runs without tune.

You must remove the airbox lid for max power and for the tuning session. The air filter must be clean and DRY - or with a very light oiling with a spray-on filter oil. Do the air filter wrongly and your tune will be wrong. Air up rear tire to max pressure just before the tune - I used 30 psi on my 2012..

Dyno operators will likely NOT be "educated" on how to operate the PCFC. You will need to talk to your shop about this. Be damned sure they know that there is no DJ tunes for the PCFC and the KLX - and that they will have to develop a tune from scratch, using the PCFC.. You might add that once done, DJ WILL HAVE A KLX TUNE FOR THE PCFC - THANKS TO YOU!!!

Tell them you require (not negotiable) 12.7 to 12.8 AFR across the entire RPM range - straight line - @ WOT.
Tell them you'll want your raw data files off the dyno and that you'll bring a "new-in-package" USB flash drive for your files.

If they will do all the above at a fair price - schedule a tune session with em...

I will let them know. I've been looking at some of the places here and I found one with a decent rep and review history. If not I can always travel somewhere that's willing to do it to the specs and how you described.
