Neonarc, very helpful.. Thanks. Got her apart right now. Somewhere I saw a chart with comparisons of main jet sizes by manufacturer. The stock on mine was k112. Just wondering how that translates to a DJ size.

The subject of jet comparisons - trying to compare DJ jets to anything else - has been fraught with error for years ... Just do what I did,, Call DJ, ask for a jetting specialist, ask him how DJ jets compare to Keihin, etc... he will tell you they don't compare, that every chart on the internet is blatantly wrong,, because no one knows how to properly measure a DJ main jet,, DJ jets use a venturi shaped orifice.. If you must use other jets as a reference to get close to the correct DJ jet - go number for number if Keihin..

However, best I can tell, from research in here, putting a regular #136 main in our CVK is a gross over fueling... While the DJ #136 produces near perfect AFR for power production - near sea level..

Wow what a difference. Still not spot on probably. I ahd no 126 so I tried a 124 that came in the kit. Lots of white on the plug after 30 miles so I went richer to the next step up the kit provided which was a 128. Now the plug looks like it is beginning to get that nice brown on it The power felt, to me, about the same between the 124 and 128. Ill err on the rich side. Thanks for all your help.

One issue Im having is a high speed occasional miss at throttle. Cant figure that out. It is instantaneous and happens every few seconds, only at WOT or nearly so. Any ideas?

Just did a test ride with 5N and 3.5 out on the fuel screw ( using DJ 136 main jet) - Results are outstanding.. It has a power "hit" - I think as it comes up on the needle - that is outrageous.. more to come..

I think, based on testing from a few of our esteemed members, that chart is useless.

Why anybody would waste valuable time fooling around with the DJ stuff when a proven factory option exists - at a cheaper price, is beyond me.

It would be nice if we had AFR charts using regular jets, KLX300 needles, and some kind of lightened spring...

Out of curiosity I got out my DJ kit.
My stock carb had a Keihin 118. Looking at the DJ116 next to the 118, the 116 appears smaller. Looking at the 118 next to the DJ128, they appear the same.? I know it's by eye, so how do I measure them?
I can see the markings on the jets.
The chart seems way off.
Is there a way to measure my A/F without welding a bung in the exhaust? Is there one that'll fit in the cleanout plug, or the end of the pipe?
I'm curious, the bike runs great, it has power all the way to the top.
I passed an 18 wheeler the other day like any other moto and the bike wasn't even tapped out!
But I went from a lean running 60+mpg to 40+mpg on the road. I'm ok with that if I'm not too rich. But as I've said before, I'd be happy if there was a middle ground in the mpg arena while holding onto the power. If not, then so be it.
It just makes me think of the line from Jaws - "You're gonna need a bigger boat." - but replace "boat" with "gas tank".

Maximus, you'll have to talk to a DJ jetting specialist to learn how to measure DJ jets' flow rates compared to regular jets.. They told me all charts that attempt to compare DJ jets to others are total crap because no one measures the DJ jets correctly - simple hole size doesn't get the job done.. So yes, that chart above is total crap if your looking at the DJ data..

Seems like you should be able to buy a small AFR meter and a long probe tip to shove up in the exhaust system ...
