Default dumb tire question.

Looking at some new tires and as in the image link the size is 120/80-18M/C
What does the MC stand for?

HMMMM, I didn't know, so I googled it. Found the answer here https://www.denniskirk.com/help_center/tire-sizes.jsp
It says.
Some tires may have additional information in their size, for example WW, meaning it's a white wall tire. If the size is followed by TT, it means that it is a tube type tire, which requires an inner air tube. TL means it's a tubeless tire. Others may have M/C at the end of the size, which simply means it is a motorcycle tire.

Thanks! Go figure. Its weird for instance in that link that only one size has that designation. Since it was the only metric size listing I was guessing it had something to do with that.

That was my first thought too.

Well it's a good thing that they have them marked for motorcycles,,,, they look so close to car tires , it's hard to tell them apart

I bet the distinction is less obvious in some countries where little cars and trucks are running around.

Or in other countries where people will do anything for the "look" they want.

I think that this little red car would "look" cool with four dirtbike knobbies on it.

If a company makes motorcycle and ATV and/or car tires it's simply part of their code.
