I've read somewhere that te K270 front is not safe and gives an unstable ride, does any of you had that kind of experience? I've been looking at tires to do the same kind of dirt road rides, I still can't make a choice. Michelin T63 and Shinko 700 does have good reviews. I also like the Pirelli mentioned in this thread but they're the most expensive ones. Hard choice to make!

I run them on my xt225, I like them a lot for a 50/50 tire. However, like most knobbies, rain and high speed turns don't mix

 

I've got over 30,000 miles running dual sport and hard back road (supermoto type play without backing it in) running Duro Median HF903/904 tires They're great on price and get better grip in pretty much all ways than the Kendas and similar 50/50s. I can lean hard enough that I drag a toe on pavement and I've not had any problems in more casual off roading. I'll be running them on my new-to-me 09 250S. They have a great tread on them using webbing (forget the right term) between the ***** side to side for more stability in turns, then full depth between rows giving a paddle effect in mud and such. I get about 4000 miles a set, when the rear gets squared off enough and the tread quits getting decent traction, so I replace both front and rear - about $120 or less for the pair.




All I can tell you is I started running them when I couldn't afford a "better" set (aka higher priced names) and now I can buy a "better" set, but the Duros have performed on par with all those my friends ran. I also ran with the big boys, one on a supermoto'd XR650R and another on an Aprilia 550, holding my own in the corners (the Aprilia obviously stomped me on the straights and the rider was better than me in the corners). As long as I can still buy them I'll keep running them. They simply work for a ridiculously low cost.

Now if I go full on dirt, I'll do full knobbies, that just makes sense.

 

agreed, i really like my stock 606's, i dont ride in the rain and dont take corners all that fast. I would have bought 606's again but not at a hundo bucks a tire!!!!.... I pay that for my f250 diesel 285-75-16's!!! someones making a killin on mbike tires!

Oh you said d606 in your second post and it confuzzled me. I missread. long day

 

Dunlop D606-approx 6k miles. Love these tires. I live in Indianapolis, and have ridden most of the winter. Never an issue in the rain or cornering.
