Agreed. The tank lid should have a reminder on the underside of it in bright writing, saying "switch off reserve", so you see it only when you are filling up...

How could Kawasaki miss such a crucial requirement in their design?!

Hasn't happened to me yet, but I can see the day coming...

They didn't miss anything...thats not a design flaw. Thats just common sense. I mean, do they tell you to make sure you pull the clutch in when you shift?

One thing I've noticed about signs is when you put a sign up warning you about something and you see it so many times you begin to not see it anymore because your use to it. It no longer stands out. So if everytime you flipped your lid up and saw a warning sign pretty soon it would be just like as if that sign wasn't even there. It would be useless.

Perhaps the moral of the story should be to always keep like a quart of gas with you in a jug in your backpack or something.

Warning signs make things idiot proof thereby perpetuating a state of idiocy. Rather than weeding idiots out in a Darwinian fashion they multiply and eventually one of them becomes the president.

Everyone is stupid and idiotic, just far too many of us fail to realize just how stupid and idiotic we really are. Which explains why all politicians and governments suck, it's because we all suck. Kindergarten is where you learn all of the important things. ;-)

a handy voice reminder for the clutch would be handy... :P

and all they need to do to make the sign stand out everytime is to make it out of flashing LEDs that change colour gradually. Then you have funk value as well.

please note... my first post in this thread: sarcastic/non serious.

This one was all business though.

I finally trained myself to switch back to "on" while I'm filling the tank. I'm un-nerved enough by the sudden loss of power and studdering while riding in traffic (which is where it ALWAYS happens), I think I'd have a stroke if I ran completely dry at rush hour.
