Default does this fan ever work?

Since totaling about 900 miles since buying this bike, I don't believe the fan has ever come on. Maybe it has but I've not noticed, but I've looked a number of times. Normal activation conditions?

Mine was on a lot last weekend. 85 degrees and a lot of trolling through single track in 1st gear. The fan would even stay on for a bit if I killed the engine but kept the key on.

on the street I've had it come on when stuck in traffic....In the woods I've had it come on doing a lot of slow first gear riding. Not very often though.

Only 1 day when I was riding slow in the mountains and it was well in the 100's. Otherwise, I've never heard it come on.

Mine turned on once when I was tuning the air/fuel. Haven't seen it on since.

Thanks for the feedback, I won't stress about it. I will feel better having it run at least once though.

Attribute part of it to two radiators vs one. My KLX 650 C seldom has the fan come on. Only in extremely slow going has it ever run and then only briefly. The R model off roader has no fan. Good cooling is good cooling.

My first off-road ride today, exploring slowly and cautiously on a dirt track new to me, with occasional stopping to squint at my phone's GPS.

In total I'd say I heard the fan come on about 6 times during a 1 hour ride.

I've never heard it come on when on the road, but I've only had this bike for about 2 weeks

100 degrees, in first gear, steep hill, slow trail riding and then mine came on that one time. LOL
