I looked through IOWAGUYS posts reading the entire thread and didn't find anything way over the top.

I think its fine here, honestly. If we are all big enough to buy motorcycles and have homes and families, we can put up with a little riff raff from an internet poster who choses to be an idiot. I think its fine to tell someone he is an idiot, when he choses to act like one... its not like the entire board has digressed into a massive flame fest.
Let the show go one, if he bothers you don't reply. If you want to ruffle some feathers, do it. Its what he wants to do, play his game and have some fun.

Wow guys!!! I just read every post from iowaguy. Most of the comments came across as "sarcastic opinions". On the on the other hand, everyone who replyed just played into it. It just seemed to escalate. I do see the point of this poll, but i dont believe we can single any-one person out this time. We had more than enough comebacks and pics that were inaproperate. LOL!If we cloned your brain and put it in everyone's head, I guess there would be no problem. If we all thought and reacted alike, there wouldn't be much group dynamics going-on here either. Maybe that's part of the reason we are all wired just a bit different.
If someone were to compare your enthusiam and intest in tweaking and modding your motorcycle to an'alchoholic that denies heis anaddict' after telling you he works with alcholics daily,you might find that allusion humorous, wheras the guy sitting right next to you might find it a bitcondescending andbecome irritated....Especially if the guyoffering-up the allusiondoesn't include himself as one of the guys in denial about his 'addiction.'

well, since my name is brought up several times on this thread i feel i should at least peel the slugs out of my vest and have a shot.
btw, i hope this thread has a backfire screen.
please show me where i have called someone a name or personally insulted another. i don't know if i have, i don't think i have. i don't curse at another, or call anyone names. for the most part i post my thoughts which may or may not hit a nerve with the reader. if this happens, it's probably on them. i have always said i say what's on my mind but i don't insult you blatantly for no reason if i even do. i feel i haven't insulted anyone, but just said my peace and then it did offend another for whatever reason. that reason more than not is probably the truth and that's why the person got offended.
i think others need to be looked at if i'm singled out- i have never started a thread intentionally to make jokes at or laugh at a HD rider wrecking. this was very immature and offensive not only to HD riders, but to all riders who have gone down and even to HD riders on here that let that person have it.
i don't really think there's much else to say. if you can't take my heat then get out of the water. this isn't cuba. we should be proud to vent our thoughts, but that doesn't mean we should take a cold stab at HD riders who wreck their bikes with a weird helmet on. i know i'm not perfect and i do come off sideways a lot, but it's just me. i'm not afraid to say what's on my mind. alot more should be or want to be able to do that. if you can't that's cool. but don't start 2 or 3 huge forum topics about rules and if we should follow them just because of "iowaguy". if rules completely got followed, do you know how boring a country this would be? you break rules daily, laws also. do you make up a poll inside your head if you should be fired, punished, incarcerated? or do you just go on and say i won't do that anymore? probably the latter. as i said, i'm not perfect but neither are you and i know you didn't say you were. but having the nerve 'inadvertently' seeing if people want iowaguy to be deleted pretty much puts yourself on a pedestal and see if others want to bow down to you and your intent. it's sad and i'm not pissed, i could care. i personally find it hilarious you let someone like me get into your head as much as you do. i walk away from my pc each night and forget each and every one of you. i don't think you do the same.

just a couple tidbits- i'm not an alcoholic or addict. i haven't received an pm's with threats or warnings in the last 6 mos.

Iowaguy I still hope we can put all of this behind us, and get back on track. From me personally that means to really watch what I say, while still having fun and sharing ideas. I know there is a balance to be had there, we all struggle with that. Take care.
