Alright you PNW'ers. Who wants to do the Desert 100 dual sport ride? I would like to have a proper posse to represent the KLX250S. I did this on my KLR650 in '04 and it was *** whooping fun.

It's hard to see, but click on the 'Desert 100' link. I will post more info as the time gets closer.

Jeff, did you have any problems refueling with the stock tank? Was there gas midway?

After you do a lap on the 30+ mile desert course, you can fuel up at your camp. I then hit the dual sport course and I made it about 80 miles when I ran out. I carried two bottles of gas in my back pack and it got me to the gas station at the last check point. So yes, you have to carry some gas but there is a station at the last check point and then it is a 10 mile ride or so back to camp.

I carry 2 33oz. MSR fuel bottles in my pack. As soon as Ican I empty them into the tank. They arent nearly as heavy as you may think, even with the 1.5l. of water I carry in there too. The bottles are VERY tough and I can toss my pack around with no worry of them breaking open and spilling. I do also carry a small fire extinguisherand shovel .

Man I wish it was in June or July... I am from the Spokane Valley, but living in lame flat Texas. We are driving up on vaction in Jun/Jul and I am bringing the KLX with me and this would be a blast. On that note anyone from the area wanna set up a ride around that time frame.

Hey Tony, how is Everett? I am kicking around a full timeANG job up there.
