Here in Oklahoma, the natural color of the earth is red. Thou there are some places where its the more tan color sand or brown dirt.

You wanna know a better screw up. What if I had jumped the banked turn. Its not sand on the other side. Its rocks and the lake.

I'm feeling pretty good and since tomorrow is my short day at work. I think I will try to conquer it once more on Friday.

I think the red in the sand is caused by the iron content.
And we have a bit of that here.

A bit?! Maybe you should redefine the words "a bit". If I tried to ride across that in my normal white shirts. They would no longer be white. Heck, even the wind is blowing some red dust up in the air. We only get that if the farmers are plowing the fields or really strong winds blow from the West.

When I say bit, what I really mean is more than half of Australia.

I'm in Perth, which is in the South West corner of Australia.
Where the red dot is.
I believe its the most isolated capital in the world.

Its a fair way to any desert from Perth.
You really need to plan a trip out there.
I mostly ride in the forrest area just to the east.
That dark green strip that runs from Mundaring to the south coast is nearly all state forrest.
And with a plated bike it's legal to ride in most of it.
