ABS plastic is not the way to go for protection. Stick to metal. Like the idea though.

This is a great pic. If my memory serves me right that is Reuben Xaus of MotoGP during the press intro for the bike.

Nice, but I'd want to put some protectors around them so I didn't beat them up

Protectors on protectors? $ 500.00 for carbon fiber hand guards I'd rather have a 351 kit.

Reuben is currently racing for BMW in World Superbikes.
Before that he was on a Duke.
He did ride MotoGP for a few seasons. I think?

Except the ktm handguards don't have fold-in mirrors. When my only way home is on the bike I rode to the trails, I tend to take it easy, and try to bounce the bike off as few trees as possible. My klx is already 3 yrs old and the factory handguards are still in good shape, only a few scratches from branches, and I still have all my fingers.

Here are the Zeta handguards and protectors/deflectors:

http://www.wheelingcyclesupply.com/s...id=76&offset=0

Handguards at the top of the page, protectors w/LED signals are second from bottom.

I have seen handguards with fold-in mirrors (they fold in BEHIND the protectors and are therefore protected, in a crash) somewhere on the internet, but I cannot locate that website. They looked perfect for serious dirt work!
