would going with a 120/100-18 be a huge difference than a 100/100-18

would the bigger tire give better traction and control, or would it not really be apparent?

 

im sure the weight of the tire plays a factor, but i think the diameter would make a bigger deal. The weight difference in a tires effecting performance i feel would be very minimal. Just like the exhaust header issue,,, i feel that the performance from an aftermarket header vs the stock is very little, now if we were racing thats a whole new ballgame...... just my $0.10

 

I've got a 120/100-18 Trak Master on my bike right now. It seems fine. If the reported dimenions are true, then the 120/100 will be 2 cm taller than the 100/100 tire. Based on the overall dimension of the tire, that will have some effect, but probably not a huge amount.

It is! And when your wheelieability is low, that might be a symptom that you have a case of accute wheelie disfunction, otherwise known as wheelieitus.

A good dose of a wheeliagra in your bore and that will fix you right up, you'll be able to maintain an erect position through 4 gears at least, or until climax, whichever comes first.

I'm running the Trackmasters here in Jersey, mostly in the pines. They hook up better than the 603s and I like them fine. They're OK on the road but I'm careful and don't run faster than say 55-60 and for short runs. Price is right and most of the enduro club guys I come across run the same, FWIW.

I just put my 120/100-18 Trakmasters on and put about 100 miles on them. I did a short stretch on the road and they absolutely sucked on the street. The bike was squirrelly as heck, and the back end was flipping out on me by going side to side randomly(tire pressure 22psi). This absolutely spooked me. If you plan on any street riding, then I would not recommend the tire. But for off road use, which is what I mainly use the bike for, It is awesome in sand, mud, snow, and FS roads. Also, breaking distance is an issue on the street. Expect a long lead time through a light, or just gun it on a yellow. I found this out by skidding into the middle of an intersection. Anyway I hope this helps.

 

They do say that for the first 100 miles the tires will be somewhat slick...........
