Default Crappy end to today's ride!

A rock busted through my steel bash guard, then through the bottom of my motor somewhere.

The dark spot on the ground is 10w40.

f$#$@.

I at least shut it down right away to check, so it didn't run dry or anything.. Just hoping I don't have to replace the whole bottom end.

My buddy towed me out of the woods then I got a ride home to get my truck. Luckily only a couple miles from home.

It's in my garage bleeding right now I don't even want to look at it yet.

Wow. Glad it didn't take out YOUR bottom end at the same time!

Day-um! That sucks. I hope when you do get a look at it, it's an easy fix for you.
Maybe your like Jed Clampit and when you crashed you struck oil, maybe the oil is just coming out of the ground.

Looks like the hit was at the Skid plate mounting bolt, Hope you did not have too long of a bolt in there.

Looks like it was the skid plate mounting bolt that punched through.. That happened when that cross brace thing snapped as it hit, then pushed into the case.

So, I'm trying to fish out the little metal punch that went in, going to get a strong magnet and see what I can do.

Do you guys think that can be welded? It's a tiny hole, I'm hoping it can!

I wish I knew more about welding things like this. I would think it can be patched without much problem. Even if it can't be done by directly filling it, I imagine a circle of metal could be placed over the hole and welded circumferentially.

It can be welded, but I would take it off the engine so it can be cleaned properly. I don't think a magnet is going to help.

Edit: your frame needs welding too. It looks like this is not the first time. Another reason to pull the engine.
