Coolant?
Eric,
The Service manual says;
Type: Permanent type of anitfreeze for aluminum engines and radiators.
Color: Green
Mixing Ratio: Soft Water 50%, coolant 50%
Freezing point: -35C (-31F)
Total amount: 1.6L
I have a gallon of Super Tech (Walmart) in the garage.. The label says it's good for aluminum.

If it says its for aluminum engines, then its Ok. The important thing is that it doesn't have silicates, which is what makes itabrasive for aluminum engines and seals. I picked up a Honda "Type 2" pre-mixed coolant. It's blueish green. Seems to work Ok.
My coolant was low also, I have about 1100 miles, I don't seem to have any leaks. The reservoir was almost empty ( overflow reservoir at the rear of the bike). any thoughts on why it would be low.
Speaking of coolant, I was talking to someone at the race track and he said that the cool thing to do with water cooled bikes is to use colored or standard red or green coolant and clear hoses.Then you could see it circulating. That would look cool..no? I know you would have to always be keeping the hoses clean, but what's the down side to that?[8D]

I use that freeze/zero stuff.
