I mostly got the megabomb because it's supposed to be quieter.

Guess I'll need to get one of his CDI units and Dyno test it one day.. It never ends..lol
I posted about Bernie's mod on TT and the reply was:

The goal is to have peak combustion pressure occur at 17 degrees past TDC, any sooner or later and efficiency/power drops off.

From my experiences an extra 2 degrees of ignition timing on a stock XR200 when running premium helps but with a 11:1 compression ratio you can't run more than stock timing without race gas.

So to me 10 degrees is way too much additional advance and the claims made for the KLX250 don't sound rational.

I was tempted to pull the eBay trigger on a CDI unit the other day after Bernie's initial post but there aren't any 07 units for sale there now anyway.

We can always wait and see if Ray tries again on a smaller dyno.

Don't forget to try a dyno run without the seat on at some point, just to see what if anything happens to the a/f ratio

Dyno shop was closed when I went back over to test the bike. I'm back at work - out in the oil field - and will have to wait until I get some time off to finish the testing... Sorry...

I assure you that I will get this done and post a full report.
