By all reports, yes it does. I haven't tried it myself though; I rarely need higher RPM's. (Only see it when I'm in neutral and think I'm in 2nd)

Those that have tried it all agree that an higher RPM can be reached.
I haven't done the mod, not sure if it is something I will do either.

I did this today, it makes a big difference, not managed to give it a good go yet, but I was hitting 60 in 4th and early 70s in 5th, then I ran out of road, it was just a quick test to make sure it wasn't going to break down on me.

Today i topped out at 75 max, now with the mod I reckon I will get 85/90 mph, without red lining it, It seems to have quite a good effect on 3rd and 4th with the extra revs
Going for an early ride tomorrow when the roads are clear and no police...

Tested the bike out good and proper today.

By-passing the clutch switch is great for 2nd, 3rd,4th and 5th gears but 6th still won't rev past 8000.

Overall its well worth doing for the extra acceleration, and top end is about 85.

But to be honest it not such a good idea to be doing that sort of speed on this bike with the set up it has, it gets pretty unstable on the front, but the concentration needed to keep it in a straight line sure did take my mind off my numb ***.

I have learnt with this sort of bike that improving the 0-60 is probably better than improving the top end.

Off road trial tomorrow.....

Hi Wiggy I've only owned my Klx for about 6wks. And have done this mod & it has made a huge difference. I can now get an indicated 90mph (on a good flat run) which is a genuine 82mph (on GPS) I would advise anybody to try this for the price of a split pin! It's about £500 quid cheaper than a power commander & faster I have also added a MTC exhaust which sounds lovely
