Default Clutch plate arrangement.

I'm putting new clutch plates into an 09 KLX250sf, of course all of the friction pads go into alignment down the grooves with the "tabs" they have on them. However, the final friction pad can have one of two arrangements, it can fall into line with the rest of the pads, or go into a different slot and be separated from the rest.

The bike's repair manual shows two pictures of clutch plates, and both of the pictures appear to have a different arrangement so it is unclear.

I looked up videos of similar bikes having new plates installed, and they were all installed with all the plates inline with eachother.

I'll post pictures if nobody understands what I mean.

Thanks!

I just did my clutch plates 500 miles ago or so, I'm not entirely sure what you are speaking of....

The shop manual says to put the last friction plate in the shallow groove in the housing.

That's what I did, after doing it incorrectly the first time. Post #57

Is it running okay? I wondered what would happen if they were left lined up.
