clutch cable issue

Put a new pro taper CR high handlebar on my 2010 KLX 250S, only to find that the clutch cable is about an inch too short. I thought that I have read about people re-routing this so that it will work. Can someone tell me specifically how to re-route the clutch cable on a 2010 so that it can be functional.
