Default Cleaning your plastics

Hi All,

Just wondering what you guys recommend for cleaning the plastics, especially the white side ones, after first ride they seem to be stained probably from my pants rubbing on them, is there some sort of polish that can be used, I've tried just with ordinary cleaners but it doesn;t come off.

Cheers
Chris.

White plastic is pain to keep clean from scuffs and dirt. Might want to try some purple power. I'm sure deej will have a sure fire remedy when he see this.

Mr. Clean magic eraser is your friend for the white panels or exhaust soot blackening the rear fender. Just wet the sponge, wring it out and it takes the stains off the plastic that no other cleaners will touch. Its crazy but it works damn good.

+1. I use magic eraser on all the plastics and the seat. Gets my bike shinning after every ride! Even gets out that stubborn seat dirt.

Thanks Guys, I love this forum

Now my only problem is being in AUS trying to find the product, can anyone tell me who manufacturers it and I might be able to track it down.

Cheers
Chris.

Don't worry think I found it, it's made by Chux, going to the supermarket now see if I can get me some.

i've always used wd-40 to clean plastics, and just about evrything else. it cleans much better than it lubricates.

I second the WD-40 as a cleaner, used it on my spare wheelset and it cuts the grime easily, then clean that off with soapy water and you've got some clean wheels. If you want the plastics to stay clean, after you wash the bike and it dries, go over the plastics with furniture polish like Pledge. It makes them crazy slippery and the dirt won't stick to stain it. I spray it on a rag and then wipe the plastic that way I don't inadvertantly get it on the seat, thereby negating the gripper seat cover.

The white side panels? Scrub with soapy water after every dirt ride.
