Clarke tank
Bought a Clarke tank for my 06 KLX. I was realy impressed with the way it slipped right in and bolted up. Shrouds fit right on, couldn't believe how easy it was. Then I tried to put the seat on. S--T!!! Three hours later, after pulling the sear cover lose and moving the bracket I finally got it on. When the air cleaner gets dirty I think I'll sell it.

From my post on installing my Clarke tank. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ke-tank-35277/ It's still not as easy to put on as stock but it's not so hard that it me want to sell my bike

As noted in every other post about the Clarke tank the fit on the 06-07's isn't perfect. The tank is designed to fit the old KLX 300 and there have been minor changes as the years have passed. Do not let this scare you away, because everything bolts up fine when mounting the tank. The only spot I had to improvise was with the screw that the front of the seat slides over. The one Clarke sends is too short for the KLX250s. I used an old mounting bolt from something I had removed in the past, one of the rear cover washers, and a couple bushings to make it work.

I fought with the same issue when I got my Clarke tank. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the front clip on the seat to engage with that screw on the tank. Eventually I came up with my own 'clever' solution. I gave up. It did bug me for a while that the seat wasn't fully fastened down, but I got over that when I realized I couldn't tell the difference anyhow. The seat still lays flat and doesn't move, so I'm happy.
