Unhappy Changing spark plug 07

This may be the dumbest threat ever started, but I am a mechanical retard and need some help. I am unable to remove the old spark plug. Easy to break it loose, but unable to fit the removal tool (rubber side down) back over the plug. What am i doing wrong? And damn these sausage fingers. What a pain in the butt. Please help.

Cool

There is a post on here about a shorter wrench settup that I use for my bike. I have an IMS tank so have even less room than stock. Try feeding a 1/4 inch or so wide strip of duct tape behind plug and looping back tru and you can lift the plug up, after the threads are free, of course. Try using a thin vinyl glove on one hand to give you some grip on the end of you finger and just kind of 'push' it around. You may need to use another finger on the end of the plug to wiggle it a bit, or a little stick w/ a depression to fit over the end of plug. You'll get it. Put some anti-seize on your new plugs threads to make life easier next time. Later....

not a dumb thread .... you can F with it like newparts said, or just yank the tank ... I yank the tank, you can leave it connected to the carb...kawi engineering.

Do you have the tool kit that came with the bike? The socket fits right over then you use the open end wrench to spin it.. Should be real easy!

use a short piece of vacuum tubing to press over the top stud of the plug.
I used to have to do this on the old big block mopars. you can even use it to thread the plug back in snug without fear of cross threading.

+1. The Kawa' kit that comes with the bike has a plug spanner, works fine for me.

Are you suggesting a klx spark plug shoot out?
