Well here are a couple ofpreliminary pictures of how I plan to carry the chain saw for clearing out the trails after a storm. And before anyone says that's a lot of weight hanging out there it really isn't that heavy. There is also another way to carry it, I took off the helmet lock and it slides down right next to the fender and then the saw actually sits on top of the pelican case.

 

works for me Deej! Any way you can get it to the trail without having it end up in your spokes is a good way I'm thinking!!!

There have been quite a few storms there lately, and I was following that tragic climber story from Mt Hood where there were 100 mph winds... That'll knock over some trees!!!!

Good luck with the clearing, don't get pinned under any of them suckers.... Do you typically trail clear with someone else just in case stuff happens??

 

Not bad, I'd almost remove the bar from the power head and strap that directly to the rack.

I'd hate to scrub off a rock and bend the bar on my 300 dollar saw and be done for the day before I even started. What kind of saw is that anyways? Almost looks like a 200t.

Anyway, I saw this setup and thought you may be interested. Although it looks like a different rack, the idea seems solid. Vertical rather than horizontal may cause less damage to the saw when you accidentally wack it against a tree.............just an idea.

While I have been running a chainsaw since I was 12 I really never needed to clear any trails until now, but its really disappointing when you find an awesome trail and get a couple of miles in and have to turn around and wonder where it continued to.

 

Well if I didn't have the Pelican case that's the one I wanted to put on the bike, but I'm not giving up the case. At least not yet.

Depending on how big those trees and or brush may be you could always just carry this.................
