Default Chain slider?

Hi everyone, Got my bike torn down for maintenance and I would like to replace the chain slider. Is a better aftermarket replace available? Thanks

s10,

Good idea, I busted the stocker off in a rocky section of trail. The Fredette Racing Product marketed now by Moose Racing is MUCH more durable!

Here is a cut and paste from an earlier post:
After feeling a momentary hangup while riding a rocky section of the WABDR, I later noticed that I had sheared the chain guide right off. The only metal part is the outer plate and it sheared at the lightening cutouts. I never noticed that the rest was just plastic!
I ended up riding another four days without it, though I did make sure the chain was not excessively loose.
I just installed a Moose Racing chain guide which ended up being a repackaged Fredette Racing product. It is nicely made and seems plenty sturdy with metal plates on BOTH sides of the guide, and it seems to accommodate a 48T sprocket just fine. The Moose product is readily available on EBay but none of the big retailers seem to carry it.

Just FYI, in case anyone runs into this!

God Bless,
TC

Cool! I was looking at replacing the rear also as I also noticed the large plastic construction.

Thanks for the info TC!

s10,

I and some others around here have been pleased with Hot Foot Moto, a little ma and pop company. I suggest ordering by phone if you choose them as I once received a wrong model with internet order (but that was a few years ago). Put their stuff on the KLX and KLR.

Got a full set on order. Noticed the listing shows kdx 200/220 is the same. I measured my 05 kdx220 and sure enough they are the same. Just a little FYI.

Thanks again guys!

Always good to find part interchangeability. Some sites just don't list our klx's.

I went green.

Exactly. You'll notice the kit doesn't include a roller. My roller was fine so it didn't make any difference. I suppose if a roller was needed one of their universal or another model may work. Maybe give a review on their site after giving the product a try.
