Hey everyone, I'm just curious as to what people are using for chain lubrication. Done a search but didnt find much. The chain is what i clean the most on my bike (dirt looks good to me!). Gonna start buyin kerosene in drums i think. Anyhow ive been using some synthetic spray chain grease, cant remember brand but its good = expensive. is their a cheaper alternative or should i keep using what im using?

 

bel-ray superclean. It dries white so you know where it is and where it isn't. It doesn't fling off and make a mess of everything too.

 

Teflon Multi-Use Spray. Get it at Lowes. It's cheap and it dries as a dry wax. If you give it enough time it won't spray all over the place.

 

I like chain wax forget who makes it.

some chain lube are real thin that go on and kinda cleans the chain. it tacks up after a few minutes. same people who makethe foam cleaner and sticky stuff make this. PWI or something ..... Found an old can of chain wax I had, so will use that up now. but I rather have the cleaning action of the other stuff cuz I am laaaaazy...

 

My buddy uses that and when he shows up to a ride his chain always looks brand new with the white factory grease still on it. I just got me some, haven't tried it out yet, though.

 

I'm using an oil that is made specifically for o-ring chains.

 

I use this. Got a can free with the bike. Works as it should but does fling off a little. I don't care, the bike gets cleaned often anyway.

 

+1 on the Dupont Teflon Multi-use, there are several bike magazine reviews that give this stuff top honors.
