Cool Chain clicking noise

Is the chain supposed to make a clicking noise when you give it some gas on higher gears?

The only time I've ever heard clicking is when it needs lubrication. If the chain is lubed and its tension is properly properly set then you shouldn't hear any noise from it.

If you lug a modern 4 stroke in the higher gears, the chains slaps all around and makes a racket. KTMs are famous for it.

My theory is that while lugging the engine with high chain speed, each power pulse of the engine is spaced out far enough to actually allow the chain to slacken and then slap when the combustion event occurs.

I get a funky timing chain slapping type noise at about 6000 rpm in high gears.

I get the timing chain noise as well starting around 5000 to 6000 rpm. It
goes away when RPM's drop down. Kind of annoying. I'd like to find out how to stop it.

My cheap chain stretched and is getting hooked on my worn sprockets causing a clicking. It does this just pushing it around, yeah I know I need new ones. A good way to tell if your chain is junk is to try pulling it off the R. sprocket at the 3 O-clock position, if you can pull it up enough to expose a tooth it's toast.

I'm a relatively new owner here but from the photo you provided I'm pretty sure you're chain is loose and needs to be tightened. I can tell just from how it is hanging off the rear sprocket.
