Case cover for our bikes / KLX300?
Does anybody make a engine case cover for either our bike or the KLX-300 (since I assume it has the same case)? I really need one, my case has a big gouge in it from the shifter impacting it and I'm worried about the longevity of my bike CFC doesn't list one for our bike, does anyone know if the Yamaha 250 unit will work?
Any help would be appreciated.

I could probably find one for a couple hundred dollars, but that would be buying a whole used engine. Once the case is taken off, I would have no way to use the engine. Maybe you could rebuild and have a spare for parts?

I'm looking for something like the CFC stick-ons that they make for KTMs and DRZ-400 bikes. The gouge is only up on the round area of the case. It doesn't appear to have lessened the integrity of the case but I'd worry about if I crashed and the shifter impacted it in that same spot that it might poke through. I honestly have no idea how it happened. I tend to crash onto the left side, and the stock shifter is soft as butter.
Anybody have any ideas or suggestions? Wouldn't any cover protector for a 250/300 Kawasaki fit? There are covers for the KX250, would these be compatable?

Well you can only replace the side covers in pairs and that junk isn't cheap. The gouge isn't that bad. Tomorrow I'm going to compare the side of my dad's bike to mine, maybe I can jank the CFC protectors for the DRZ on to my bike with some trimming and hammering. If not, I'll be mixing up some JB weld and puttying it up.
Oh well. The good news is, I got my new sprockets, chain, and tires on with little fuss! I love it! 47-tooth rear is the way to go! The tires are ok so far on the road, I'll ride some gravel roads tomorrow, hopefully hit the trails next Saturday.

What a good idea I could use one. Did a wheelie in the road my bike went over backwards and it landed on the L side. I cracked the cover with the shifter between the KI and had to get the truck to wheel the wounded soldier home. The only damage other than the case wich I had to weld back together was a broken plate light and some scratches. This would have sucked if I was out in the woods. I'll have to see if I can make one.
