Default Carb mod and jetting question

I would like to richen up my fuel mixture enough to were it is safe to install the FMF pipe I ordered (Powercore 4)

Could I get by with just changing the Main and Pilot jet and and backing out on the mixture screw?

Would not drilling the slide and changing the needle valve cause problems?

Ill admit Im a little apprehensive about messing up my diaphragm since they are not cheap. I just want to run a safe fuel mixture that is compatible with my new pipe.

I'm happy with my DJ klx250s kit, no drill on the slide with DJ's lighter spring. I'm running the 128 main with the needle on the 4th clip down with smog and screen delete and a drilled stock pipe and KDX200 snorkel.

Not as good as pumper carb but i think i'll wait till i go with Bill Blue's 351 kit for that.
