Carb Iceing
I am so dissappointed with this bike today. Took it up into the mountains today and it freeked out. 40degrees out cruising at 50mph, as soon as I hit the fog...stumble,stumble. I pulled over and out went the fire. Choke started it and it would barely idle, twist the throttle and dead again. Wait a few minutes and it runs normal for ten more minutes. HERE is the link that helps explain. Marty, I don't think you have anything to worry about yet.

BTW, I'm going to order a Staintune exhaust for this bike in the spring. I've had lots of good luck with them on other bikes and they've had years to tune for this bike in their own back yard.

It's a shame they couldn't have included a de-iceing circuit like the CVKs on my Bonneville. Oh well, I guess it's the same cheap a$$ mind set that caused them to delete the pilot air mixture screw altogether on this carb!

Please tell me you're kidding, or it's a mistake.....

Huh? No air screw AT ALL? Have to change the pilot jet to adjust idle/low speed mixture?
Please tell me you're kidding, or it's a mistake.....

...don't tell the emissions guy.

Well I know I adjusted the air/fuel mixture for the idle circut. The one behind the steel plug I removed, on the cylinder side of the carb.
