Default Carb---fuel injected or not???

Hi Fellas, I've got a KLX 250sf 2009... I bought this bike in Thailand... Are the carbs in the new KLX's in Asia different than the carbs in the new KLX's in the USA???

I want to rejet my carb with the Dynojet 2182, which is sold in the USA for this specific motorcycle... But if mine is fuel injected, it wouldn't work... Correct???

Are there any manuals on this type of carb???

Any answers will be greatly appreciated, thanks for ya time...

P.S. I checked with the local Kawasaki dealer here, but the answers were vague, and I don't have much confidence in the locals.

If it has a carb' then YES it will work. If it's FI then NO it wont work. Simple.

If you have FI you will need a "magic" box to get more power.
No idea of what fuel delivery system you get in Thailand.
Post a pic of the carb/FI.

Where r u in LOS? The Thai spec KLX250 is FI only and utilizes a Throttle Body. There a a few older models around that are carburated the you could rejet. As lame as the KLX250 is in LOS it has more pull (HP) than the models exported to the rest of the world (ROW). Supposedly their exists a method to override/bypass the rev-restrictor and it is addressed on the Golden Triangle Riders forum (www.gt-rider.com). I have not tried this on my Thai KLX so do not know how effective it is. The D-Tracker has been recalled for an ECU problem which results in a free swap but have not heard of this affecting the KLX.

Sabai,
Eric

Thanks for the replys...

I have the Thai spec KLX250...

I've already replaced the ECU with the free swap... now waiting for the ECU from Japan to arrive...

I was also wondering how the fuel injected throttle body would react to a big bore kit. My next mod is to install the 330cc kit from the states. And also, is there a power commander available for this bike???

I have not heard of the need to replace the stock ECU yet. As I understand it, the recall only applies to the Thai Spec D-Tracker. I could be wrong as I am at work in the middle east until next sunday. The Power Commander does not exist for the KLX and the guys in Japan seem to be taking their sweet old time on their's. Without a field programmable ECU/module adding a big bore kit to the Thai Spec KLX would be a challenge as the factory one may not be flexible enough to handle it. You could try it and see what happens, let me know!
