The new engine in the 2007 FXD (Dyna) is more like 1573.2cc and interestingly enough, won't hold a candle to any 1200 sportster in performance. Regurgitating bull sh*t that you've read or heard at the local biker bar. You would be better served to only comment about things that you have actually experienced! OH, excuse me, if you did that you wouldn't be able to comment at all.
This is the new Low Rider that I just purchased for my wife. We traded her 883C in. After riding several Sportsters and Dyna's this is what we ended up with. But don't be fooled,....... this IS a better performer all around than the Sportster. Sportsters are great bikes if that type of bike is what you want. But don't expect anyone to swallow that more horsepower and more torque = less performance.

A buddy of mine from NC brought his pilot up 3 weeks ago for me to do some welding and repairs on it. So we worked on the Pilot for a day and got it taken care of, then the following day we got the DS bikes out and rode till we couldn't stand it any more. The day after that we got on the Harleys and rode all day again! It's way more fun when you share your toys!!!!!

would you shut up.fact is that i could prolly outrun either of these on my klx because most people who ride them are not out exploring their horsepower peak which is what the bike is not about.it's about the ride.how many harleys have you owned or worked on ??? that is my main question.please explain to me how you set the timing on a sportster 1200??? and what does the advance module consist of if you are so genious.???or better yet how does it work....this stumps many people, except those who know.
