Default Can a klx be lowered?

Hey guys. I just checked out a klx (didn't end up getting it because of its condition [sm=boohoo.gif]) But i noticed that would probably want it to be atleast a inch or so lower. I did notice that the rear spring was all the way down (up), but just wondering if just changing that will really help the hight or should i also get a link?

You can also lower the front forks a bit. I believe an inch is possible.

Jonny, I also have a 30-inch inseam....no problems, in-fact in the two plus years I've had the klx, I put on RAISING links, to help the geometry, and a high seat from guts racing. Lowering links really hurt the geometry/handling of the bike....well I think so.

Shoot my ktm 640 has a solid 37" seat height and it's a PIG offroad and I deal with it.

Jonny,

I think FM is right. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam and have to lean the bike a bit to flat foot on one side. Once under way it's just not an issue and you'll be glad for the ground clearance when it comes time to cross that 6" logon the trail.

They are so much easier to control if you lower it,
The right way to do it is send it to these guys , $550 and its perfect, any height you want. http://durelleracing.com/index.htm

I checked in to lowering my KTM a little bit, but was advised against it unless it was just completely unmanageable. My inseam is around 30 inches also. It wasn't bad stock, but after I put on a proper rear spring for my weight, that raised the seat height for me by at least an inch. I spoke with a guy that specializes in nothing but suspension and he said not to do it unless you absolutely had to. I'm used to the higher seat now, and the bike feels so much better properly set up, so I'm glad I kept it at the stock height.
