c/s nut size

Default c/s nut size

hello all, thanks to any and all that respond. does anyone remember what size socket is needed to remove the countershaft nut, doing the 13 tooth tomorrow.

welcome to the site....... cant recall off the top of my head..... its a mother to get off unless you have air tools.... impact gun, then itsa piece of cake.....

I used a long ratchet with an additional long trailer hitch ballclosed end wrench as additional leverage. It really did take swearing at it before it came loose....

Of course I would never do something like this, but if your willing to consider -

Pep Boys (and likely others) sell a 24v electric (recharg batt) impact gun. It works, I borrowed one from a friend. You could purchase it, and the realize that you don't need it so much, and return it - say after trying it out on a certain 27mm nut. They aren't that much dough though, under $100 and pretty useful.

I found myself running in to all kinds of swearing and such when trying to remove the nut using standard hand tools. Something with some power makes it a no brainer.

Other options - gas station or local shop that might be friendly enough to loosen it up for ya, then you can use hand tools at home to to the work.

thanks guys, g-line is comming over so we can change his front to a 13, just nedded to know if i had to buy a socket. thanks for the info.
