Brighter Headlamp Bulb
What are you guys running for night time trail rides????? Even on the way home from work there's frickin deer everywhere!! 2 of em last night right in front of me on tar, those Kenda's were screaming something tight when I stepped on em!! Thank god I'm not running dunlops, half my skin would be scraped into the white line for ten yards. I need to see, you guys have anything on this????

PIAA Extreme White Plus H4 60W/55W, 4000 Kelvin pn 70456. It's a direct swap and way brighter.
I have deer and moose to avoid, so far I've seen them all with the new bulb, had a few close calls before the change.

+1 The PIAA for Powersports are the way to go, designed with high vibrations in mind.

Just be careful with the wattage. Sometimes guys will go for retina-burners, and add waaaaay too much amperage to the circuit. (Usually when they put additional lamps on the handlebars or other hard parts to look like some Dakar motos.) My two cents.....

Use gloves so you don't touch the bulb. If you do touch it, clean it with alcohol. If you didn't know that, which you probably did, just covering the bases.
On a similar note...take off your front fender to get easy access to the bulb.
Took me some head scratching to figure that out.

Initially I thought, why wouldn't they be, then I realized it's CA...
The package says nothing about being DOT legal, nor does the website.
It's not so bright (or white) that a LEO would give it a second thought, IMHO.
