I'm starting to really like this bike after having it for a month:
Here are the problems/bitches I had about the bikeon the when I first got it:
*)Misses a little in mid-to-high RPMs at half-throttle...no big deal...these things are known to run lean.
*)Has a tendancy (has happened 5 times) to find neutral in shifts from/to 4th,5th,6th. Today it happenedwhen I was accelerating outof a right turn. Itwentneutralfor a second and eventually found the proper gear after I wound the motor up to about 4K (clutch engaged)....that grinding noise cant be good.
*)6th gear is useless unless you are cruising on the highway at about 55-65.
*)Tires are sh_t. I put more wear on the stock tires my 1st300 miles (most all in the woods) than my china-bike showed after more than 2000 miles. Shameful!
*)Rear brake is more touchy than my beloved Tess (my first love)....its a wonder I havnt highsided yet.
*)Subframe is about 1/3 of what the Lifan had. The stock rack is only rated for 11lbs?
*)Blows headlight fuse because both hi/low beam light when the beam switch transitions from low to high....be quick with the beam change or you'll blow a fuse.

Now that another 600(brake-in is done now)miles have been put on I've noticed a few improvements:
Seems to have richened up and runs smoother? I did'nt make any adjustments.
Fuel mileage has improved. 1st time I measured it was 61mpg, next time (about 500 miles) was 69, now I am over 70mpg.
Shifting has gotten better. I have not had a false-neutral now for about 200 miles. Shifting is more precise feeling.
6th-gear actually pulls better now. Engine has loosened up enough to have a noticableimprovement in 5-7kRPM range where the 6th-gear sweet spot is.
Bike is more hands-off than previous bikes. I always go over the bike every 50-100 miles or so, and have found that things like screws/fasteners, chain-adjustment, oil-level, etc. rarely need adjustment.

These are big-deal improvements that make the bike more enjoyable for me.

put good oil in, will shift better.

You'll definately know it's time for an oil change when shifting sux,haven't blown any fuses here yet,find my rear brake very nice and rack, what rack?

 

My shifting sucks if is has new oil or not. I am definitly going into the shift star this winter,

 

I have never blown a fuse and I have had mine on both high and low beam at times for a min or so. Sounds like your fuse is too low rated.

 

Yeah, or something else is wrong? Possibly for some reason a bad bulb which burns too much power? Maby you have a wire pinched and it is running current but not enough to blow the fuse, then when you have the high/low on for a split second it blows the fuse.
Or it could be the fuse as MaverickAus said.
That would suck cruizin at night then... pop, no light!
Or is it just high or low, not both?

 

Ithink somthing inside ofthe switchis touching the bars (or something it's not supposed to touch)momentarily when you switchbetween H/L beam. I would pull the switch off a take a close look.

 

Yesss yess... Could be grounding out on the handlebars as you hit the button.

 

This bike is great.
Takes allot of crap, but never gives it back.

Some notes since last update:
10,000 additional miles driven.
Burnt out left rear turn signal light.
Wore out another set of tires.
Valves (all four) needed new shims at about 8k miles.
The false-neutrals occur less and less as the bike gets more miles.
Front brake pads are due to be replaced.
