Default Big Bore *****

Well, I guess I just got tired of talking myself out of it. Here's my bike as of an hour or so ago:

This is my 300cc cyclinder - too bad they can't bore the 250cc cyl, I'd have sent it a long time ago since it's just sitting in a box.

I'm going ship the cylinder off tomorrow to get it bored. Takes about 10 business days. I can't ride anyway due to my shoulder injury and it was only recently that I was healed enough to do this work, so I figure now is as good a time as any.

I've got everything covered up so that nothing falls into the parts between now and when its time to reinstall.

All I got to say is you got a bigger set of marbles than I do. I would never do that to my bike............twice I would never get it back together. I tried that once with a Yamaha 650 special. Sold it a few months later..........in boxes. Good luck.

Okay, lets see here . . . . . .

Bike started out as a 249 cc "corked up" motor.

Then you did the mods, all the mods and found it ran much better.

Of course, when 249 was no longer enough, you went to 292 cc's and found that to be a bit better.

Now you are in search of another 38 cc's? Going to 330?

H'mmm, what's next, a stroker crank and 370 cc's?

While you have it apart, is there any clean up in the head that can be done to make it flow a bit better?

Yeah, I've got a list of stuff I want to get done that I haven't had time to do, so now is a perfect time. The swingarm is on the list among other things.

isnt that harley an air cooled motor? there would be more metal that can be taken off, with our motor its liquid cooled, there isnt that much that can be taken off because of the water jacket.
