Big bore vibrations

Hello all. I am new here and just picked up a 2007 KLX250S in beautiful condition with 3000 street miles on it. Like everybody I want more power and am considering the BB kit. My question is does it add any additional vibration to the engine, does it effect the counter balancer with the added piston weight? I have a 2013 V-Strom 650 that I farkled about as far as I can, like the bike but after about 30 minutes my hands start to go numb. I purchased the KLX since my commute went from 23 miles to 5 and it was a pain to get the V-Strom out of the garage for a 7 minute ride. Love the KLX, a fun little bike and looking forward to adding all sorts of goodies to it. So far all I have done is Shinko 700 tires F&R, FMF Q4, and some luggage to carry my laptop, coffee, lunch etc. Jet kit on order and eyeballing the MCM cam change.

Definitely adds some vibrations but livable and well worth it for the amazing increase in performance. You wont regret it! MCM only if you don't go with the BB kit. Great looking bike congrats!

I noticed only a minor increase in vibrations. Since a lot of my riding is lower rpm, its less noticeable. The piston is a little heavier.

All I notice is the grin inducing torque. All singles are going to have vibes. The KLX300 and 250 use the same part# for the balancer as well. As long as piston weight is kept close it is not a big deal.

If the Vstrom numbs your hands you not going to like the KLX BB. It does produce vibration and much more.than your VStrom.

Thanks for all the information. I assumed it would increase the vibration, I was just wondering if it would get as bad as the big thumpers of my youth. The hopped up XR600 of my past seemed to bounce the front tire on every power stroke at idle. Maybe I will just stick with stock bore, MCM, piping and jetting. Still working on taming some of the vibes on the VStrom, though it hasn't been ridden since I got the KLX.

To me the extra vibration is worth the phenomenal increase torque over stock. My other bike is the NC750X which is a velvety smooth compared to the KLX351.

Try at set of these to help with the extra vibration and numbing of hands Vibranator.com

I put them in a set of Faast bars and noticed a difference right away on road riding.

Had to cut 1 inch of each end of bars then tap each end, screw them end and tighten, tap was provided with kit.

I noticed less hand-numbing vibration after my big bore install. Good chance the frequency of the vib has alot to do with the numbing effect.

A chiropractor once recommend squeezing my shoulder blades together while riding. Brings my hands back to life almost immediately.
