Default big bore oil consumption

I have a bill blue 351 big bore with just over 2300 miles on it and recently had to add about 1/4 of a quart of oil. No leaks and its not blowing out of the crankcase . Never had this happen on any of my bikes. Is this normal with these big bores or do I need to look in to a new set of rings? It doesn't smoke either on start up or while running.

Oil consumption is not a problem for me or for any of BB's big bores that I can recall. Watch it closely and keep riding. See what happens....

Keep us apprised.

Did you install the rings rotated 120 degrees between the ends?
Mine does not burn oil in AZ heat.

Have you been pretty hard on the clutch ? that can sometimes make oil seem to disappear.

Bill did the install. I ran a tank of gas through her for break-in under 5000 rpm. Yes I do tend to flog the clutch, but I've done the same when racing and never noticed this happen on my other bikes. The last one was a Gas Gas FSE450, and it would blow oil out the crankcase breather so I new what was happening. Had a 91 KLR250 that ran at or over 8500 rpm on a 1600 mile trip from San Diego to Topeka the whole way and never lost a drop of oil or water, valves were still in factory specs when I got back to San Diego.
