Default Big Bore for 2018-2019 KLX250s

Greetings,

I put a deposit on one last week at the dealer. Lightly used. They thought it was a carby model. It’s KLX 250s and it’s a MY2019 KLX250TKF. From what I can read online it should be efi. I have a 1000cc street bike but excited to start playing off road. I would like a little more power. In Australia. Where should I get a big bore kit? I’ve been looking around for one and had trouble finding my model year covered. I imagine even going up to 300cc would make a difference. Is it safe to go to 350 without hurting the engine?

Do some research, I'm thinking the 300 kit might work with the stock 250 setup, but I don't know. There are a number of people that have posted on the efi topic here and some messages in the KLX250 and 300 thread at the ADVrider forum. Should be some posts here too. Hopefully someone will make comment here.

Rather then opening new thread please do research here - there is enough relevant information. If you want to get help please respect other people time. Happy to answer if you have specific question after doing some homework.

fair enough.

sorry. I was trying to figure out, as I had confusion, with some sources online saying 2019 is definitely EFI, but it turns out there were still s models which are carb, and should be the same bike pre-efi.

Now I’m fairly certain that the same standards apply to the earlier model in terms of mods, I will be able to use those resources.

i just felt really confused after reading some threads on here with people saying it would definitely be EFI, but conflicting information around it.

There are solutions for both efi and carb bikes. Just figure out what your bike is and do some research here.

Don't get too shook up. I've often missed doing some simple research to find information. Part of life. Just don't always think to do so. Keep asking questions, that's what forums were for.
