Yes, I've checked and seen numerous threads on this forum related to various kickstand issues, but none answered my question.

The original kickstand on my '06 KLX250S has never worked to my satisfaction. When down it seems less stable than I'd like. On any kind of side slope the bike wants to tip over. When in the up position it sticks out further than it needs to.

A longer kickstand that is wider at ground level would be more stable, but if I modify the existing stand in this way it will protrude even further when the kickstand is in the up position.....I think. It sticks out enough already.

Would a '09-'14 stand fit on my bike, and would it work better than the original?

Or, are there other options that would accomplish what I want?
