Yeah, but they're so friggin noisy. This Shinko tire doesn't bite the loose stuff as well as either the 270 or the D606 but it's quiet and on pavement handles like a sport bike tire. It's the 700 series.

Yeah that looks like a good tire, but not so much on lose gravel or mud and moss.

Who makes a good 50/50 tire? I have a colorado trip in june and will be usin my bike on and off road on the mountain roads and trails. Right now I have the stock tires but I think I should put some fresh tires on it. Keep hearing about Kenda's. Best bang for your buck tires is what im lookin for. Im really happy with the stock tires. Over 4500 miles and still has half tread left.

For a 50/50 tire look at the Metzeler Unicross. They have a pure knobby pattern. I have installed a pair on my bike but havent put any miles on them yet.

If they end up sucking, I am going to try D606's.

I have a Shinko 244 tires on my Honda dual sport and they work great. Work well on the street and offroad. You can't beat the price either and they last forever. The Shinko tires grip a lot better offroad then the oem Dunlops.

No one mentioned the Pirelli MT43 Trials tire which have amazing grip in almost anything and are pretty well silent on pavement. They last a long tim as well.

I think I got about 4500 5000 km out of a rear one and it had a fair way to go still You can air them way down as well for amazing traction.
