Hey all, now that i have a klx 250s on deposit for delivery (wooooo hoooo!) I want to find a service manual. Not sure if they are out yet, but I would prefer an 09 manual, but could probably use an 07.

On a related note I have a KLR (up to 07 year) service manual i would trade or sell (just sold my klr and found my shop manual)

you already have the right manual just keep that and get a supplement when it comes out.

 

I have a KLR 650 manual, it must be quite different then the klx 250 manual, no?

 

my bad. i thought you meant the klr250.
i got my 93-96 manual off ebay then got the d-tracker supplement off ebay. $10 for the manual and $19 for the supplement.

Call the dealer, specifically the salesman you dealt with and tellhim you may be having second thoughts about the klx and are concerned about maintance issues and cost...blah...blah .... blah.

Remember he gets no commission until the sale is done. As the conversation proceeds .... wait for an opening and then say "Well ok I'll take the klx if you throw in the service manuals"

If you got a big set, ask for a helmet too...lol

 

HAHA, Im pretty happy with the place i bought my bike through so im not going to pull that, but yeah, I should get something kicked back. Does Clymer have anything for the 09 yet?

 

I tried that "throw the manuals in and I'll buy" angle about amonth ago when I bought my "07". It didn't work, but I had already worked the guy over by saying I didn't think I wanted to go with the last "07" he had, and wanted to wait and get an "09" since there wasn't much difference in the prices (actuallyhehad offered the"07" for about $600 cheaper than the "09" already). He suddenly found another $300 worth of rebates from Kawasaki After that when I tried the toss in the manuals thing he was clearly at the take it or leave it point in the deal. I had already decided to take it, but hey it never hurts to try one more angle. Go for it!

Yeah no prob, just passing on the good fortune. When I found that thread, with the link to the manual, it was almost like finding a guy handing out free100 dollar bills.
