Battery choice
Earthx battery in mine now. Light and lithium, and (I believe) the only one that that comes standard with onboard thermal runaway protection, and other protection (which sold me on it above the Shorai and others)
Plus it cranks like a ****!

I just checked my old emails because I forgot which battery I had. When I had first bought the bike used the stock battery was toast likely because the PO never kept it trickle charged. I got this battery 6 years ago

Paired with the battery tender I haven't had any issues with it for the past 6 years. Being how cheap it is, I may just buy a new one for the spring since these bikes don't have the kick starter.

Sweet! Yeah I figured I'd gamble on it and you can easily buy this battery 2 times over vs. the cost of the yuasa, plus I'm pretty sure all batteries are made at the same factory and they just put a different stamp on it anyway LOL. Just make sure you keep it trickle charged, it seems with these smaller gel batteries that once the voltage gets too low they can't be recovered.
Almost like a Oil Thread..
My .02 is I put a Shorai in mine 5 yrs ago and I really did it to see how far/last it would go.. well I just checked it and still had almost 13volts.. I don't have it on a tender purposely ... again to see how long it will last.. starts strong every time.. Now yes they cost $$ ...on my Harley I put a Duracell battery.. two year warranty.. batteries plus.. great battery

I have a BB351 motor and the YUSA I had didn't like starting it. I switched to the Shorei lithium/iron two years ago, and what a difference! It was well worth the cost. On a side note, I live in Canada, so my bike sits in my garage 4 months out of the year. I've never put a tender on the Shorei, but the two times I've gone to start it after it's winter hibernation, the battery fires the bike up like the day that I first installed it.
After seeing the pictures of a KTM 950, on the ADVrider forum where the lithium battery did the "hover board/Samsung Galaxy S7" flame on, I'll live with the slightly heavier standard gel batteries.

Damn, I just paid $66 for a Duralast Gold battery at Autozone yesterday. I was having to push start the bike though, even after a 20 minute ride, so I needed something ASAP.
