Guy said to write the mileage down on the tires, to see how long they last.

And if I liked these tires, that I could put 100% street tires from Avon on the bike next time if I wanted.

Some of the new model tires Avon has come out with, have a 8,000 mile guarantee, for Cobra and 3D X-M, which either of those style tires fit my bike, I may just consider those as well next time.

on acceleration the bike feels faster than with the big block off road tires.

these tires have what they call a "chevron" pattern.

looking at the receipt I have, the guy put "nitro" in the tires.

I did some research on nitrogen in tires, and if I have to refill them with compressed air it will be O.K.

a lot of shops around here now are using nitrogen, even Sams Club.

The Avon Distanzias' make the bike look like a "hyper-motard" IMO. lol. similar to Ducatis Hyper-motard, but without the 800cc engine. haha.

That tire pressure sounds high. Is that the pressure shown on the sidewall?

 

I run 32 psi on the street in my Duros. No doubt the 35 is fine. Most all DOTs can do that.

KLX250 if you find the front or rear patters a bit on lightly rough pavement - not pot holes, etc, but rather just not glass smooth - you may want to drop a bit. A friend had that patter when running 36 psi in his NX400 triple with some sport Yokohamas. The few psi drop resolved it.

If you do get off road more than just dirt/gravel, you will want to drop down closer to 20 psi. The flex will help both traction and clean out if mud is encountered. Obviously they won't perform like a 50/50 or the like, but the effect still remains true.

 

Sure is. I went and confirmed it on the tire. I made a mistake when I said they were made in the USA, they are actually made in England. They can be aired up to 39 PSI.

They look more beefy than the Dunlop, but I think that's because there aired up to 35 PSI.

I don't notice any difference, besides how smooth they are on pavement.

And that in gravel, you don't feel the tire gripping into the gravel like the Dunlop did, instead the Avon tire just glides over top the gravel.

Also it is good idea to check tires pressures as it will extend the life of the tire I was told.

 

it is a PMR rack, here is a link to the one I got, they also make a XL rack. I don't see the option for the sissy bar rack anymore, but I purchased the sissy bar rack from PMR also.

I had contacted Avon customer service before shelling out the money for these tires.

I asked if they could be installed a "tube" type rim.

The customer service agent confirmed it could.

and on the tire, it says "if using tubes install tubes"

the Avon tires are also "directional tires".

 

Just like automobile tires the pressure on the sidewall is the max for the tire.
