AUS spec crank case breather mod.

AUS spec crank case breather mod.
I stand corrected.[sm=imsorry.gif]
Just tweekin' the carby and thought I'd have a look at the crankcase breather hose 1 more time. (twice already!)
[sm=WTFsgign.gif] Why is this hose hard in the centre and not at the edges?
I took the hose off completely, and F#$k me, there is another small Jap stowaway trying to strangle my KLX from within.
The little bugger has been dispatched to the OE surplus parts bin, which by now is looking quite full.
[sm=oopssign.gif] I was wrong.
3rd time lucky though.
P.S. Is it correct that the US crank case breather restriction is in the air boot, at the junction with the hose itself?
The Aus spec bike, well the H7 anyway, has a restriction also but as described above it is in the hose itself.
This is probably because we have the high flow 300 air boot.
Just passing the info on.[sm=gobble.gif]

RE: AUS spec crank case breather mod.
Yeah WestOZ, this was one of the first things I did was to remove that bung, I asked about it here but didn't get to much response so maybe the US model does not have it.
Cheers
Chris.

Hey Leem,
In the pipe that goes from crank case to airbox you should feel a hard rubber ring about halfway up, this is what we have removed. You will have to remove the hose to get it out..

RE: AUS spec crank case breather mod.
The restriction is in the hose on the AUS model.
See picture below.
It's a little tricky to remove the hose with the exhaust and carby in place, but doable. I used a flat blade screwdriver to pry the hose away from the airboot. It comes away easily from the crankcase.
I used a small flat blade screwdriver to pry the small rubber bung out of the hose. (crankcase end is easiest.)

Do you have photos of your modification?
My hose goes from crank case to air box.
What do you do to make the mod and what difference will it make to the bike?
