Any problems yet?
I can't say I noticed any better shifting when I switched to Mobil1 MX4T. Everything worked fine, I just didn't notice any difference, better or worse. Previously I was using Havoline 10W40. I switched back to the Havoline non-synthetic and ran a few oil changes through before I did my 300cc upgrade. I didn't want to attempt to break-in the new cylinder and rings with synthetic in the bike. I'm still running the Havoline now with no problems, shifting or otherwise.
Those with shifting issues - you may want to double check your clutch cable tightness. Maybe you are not getting the clutch retracted enough. Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies. I went for another ride on Tuesday and it (I) seemed to do better.
Kawi Wawi, It's funny you mention Harley/Buell shifting. The rider's edge class I took had those blast bikes. Very clunky. Although I did learn to drive Stick shift in a POS chevy truck without second gear.
I should stop complaining and go ride more.

Moving away from the shifter issue, but still on topic with the "Any problems yet?" thread, I pulled my forks and check the headstem bearings the other day.
For those of you who don't know, there are 2 lots of bearings that can be a little 'under greased' from the factory and also require regular re-greasing. These are the headstem bearing and swingarm bearing. There's instructions for doing the maintenance here:

Anyway, after about 1500kms the bearings were in OK shape, but a little on the dry side (for my liking). I repacked them with ALOT of Castrol Marine (waterproof) grease. I'd recommend checking them within 2000kms or 1300 miles.
Part of the reason I did this was because of a very annoying squeak that had developed when I turned the forks. Turned out to be the metal bend in the clutch cable outer rubbing on the frame clip. A tip for future reference.
