Default Any inmates near Jackson WY?

After someone that has an 06 or 07 that is close and can maybe spare a little time to help out and have their bike fitted up for the new Wolfaman pannier frames.

Wolfman source the work to Berg Briggs in Jackson. So if there is anyone out that way that could help some other inmates out, let us know.

I made an enquiry to Wolfman and got a reply very quickly (encouraging.)

The KLX is on the list somewhere. Since the Racks are designed and Made by our partner Berg Briggs in Jackson Wy. Getting bikes can be tough.

These racks look the muts nuts IMHO Fitted with the new Expedition Dry Saddle bags they look just the ticket to store your gear for a week or more in the bush.

If I was heading home for the holidays I would happily sign up for this but sadly I'm stuck on the east coast right now.

Those bags would be perfect for my KLX. This way I can put all my trail gear in those bags besides having it in a backpack. And when not on the trails, could hold my weather gear.

Hey WestOz. I just really read this thread and I see what you need. I'm five hours south of Jackson and will see if I can check in on this. I've met Eric from Wolfman so there's a little personal connection there (though I'll be surprised if he remember me).

So it sounds like the rack maker is in Jackson and he needs a KLX for fitment purposes so that Wolfman can offer there panniers for our little bikes. I had the opportunity to watch a fellow install come Wolfman Expedition panniers on a DR650 last week and was mightily impressed with the whole system - it is solid.

Here's a pic from our very muddy ride the day after he put them on. Gary's in the background with the Wolfman setup.

My KLX with the big trials tire on the back looks kinda bobtail doesn't it?

Guido, that'll be great if you get a chance to make it to Jackson. Eric was very helpful when I mailed him and he was keen to make up the racks if a bike was available. I'm planning a few longer trips for the winter and I'll need some luggage. The Wolfman kit looks great (I too have seen the new racks and bags, on a DR400 though.) Keep us posted on how you get on.

Trials tyre looks good, how does it go in the mud though??

Emailed Berg yesterday - no reply yet. I'll try Eric at Wolfman next.

The trials tire (oops, tyre) worked in the thin, slick mud we were on, I guess. I suppose a knobby would have hooked up a bit better. I felt like I was riding in sand - the back end was slithering around (but so were the other guys) and due to the tighter clearances of the bigger tire I was getting some packing around the swingarm. A little spookier was high speed on gravel. Felt really loose. I don't know if it was the tire so much as me being tense. When I hunkered down and relaxed my grip things smoothed out. I also let a little air out of the tire too. But it works great generally - high speed road, rocks and loose stuff. The traction on climbs is downright freaky sometimes. It's a pretty cool option.

Got a call from Berg up in Jackson. He's interested in the project but really had no knowledge of the KLX250. Imagine that. He did say he took a chance and made a rack for the WR250R and has sold a bunch of those and he'll look into the kLX. So maybe we need to make a bit more noise about our little scoots.

Wolfman packs in Longmont, CO.: http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/index.html

Maybe the ball has rolled a little farther. I'll keep you posted.
