Shadetree,

I'm not sure what you mean by this -- how does one calibrate the sensor? The air temperature sensor seems to be internal to the Vapor itself. I didn't see any method to calibrate it in the documentation. It reads the air temperature high regardless of whether the bike is hot or cold.

Sorry, Dan. I was joking about relocating the sensor, which I'm sure you are right about being built in, somewhere away from the heat radiating from the engine and radiators. Of course that isn't possible. It might be worth a call to the manufacturer though and see what they would say about it.

I'll try not to be such a goof next time. You asked an honest question and deserved an answer in kind.

Bill

Joking is fine -- I just didn't get it.

Yes, I do plan on contacting Trail Tech.

Is it sitting in the sun when it's reading too high?

In in sun, in my garage, weather hot or cold, cloudy, rainy, bike hot or cold, .... it doesn't matter, it always reads high.

I sent an email to Trail Tech support last night, I'll see what they have to say.

Fair enough mine seems ok, however do you guys get fluctuating revs on the Vapor? I think maybe I didn't do a good job with the sensor wire on the spark plug lead

I placed two different brands of digital thermometer next to the vapor and left it sitting all night in my garage.

In the morning, the two thermometers read 63 and 68 degrees, with the Vapor reading 65 degrees.

OK, I may have been imagining things, but on the road, things always *seem* to be reading high. I'll take the other thermometers for a ride some day.

I emailed TrailTech with my concerns, but didn't receive a response.
