Well I know it has been posted here before, but I thought I would throw my variation of the licence plate modification into the mix. I actually took a little bit from several folks mod's to accomplish this.

1. Parts hijacked from the original plate holder/lamp



2. Here is the LED licence plate lamp kit



3. I scrounged the garage looking for some steel to make a bracket, and found this "simpson" framing brace thisis a Home Depot item that costs probally a buck! Looking it over I found that I could pop rivit it to the back of the frame holder.



4. Couple of rivits and paint!


5.Glued the lamp to the housing...attached the wiring and here is the finished product.

This LED license plate light from Cycle Gear comes with an adhesive back and is simple to install.

I too modified my plate bracket...actually I removed it and replaced it with 1/8-inch aluminum plate that I got free from my local metal store..I bought a 12-volt utility lamp from CDN Tire and mounted it to the aluminum plate under the fender. I tried using the stock liscence plate holder, but it held the liscence plate out away from my utility lamp so I just riveted the liscence plate to the aluminum plate so the light would show the liscence plate better. I'll try to add a couple of pics...
