What? Well, I'd be plenty confident in buying a cylinder kit from a source who stuck a pic of a 2-stroke sleeve in with some of the other parts. But wait a minute!...this may actually be the rebirth of the 2-stroke hybrid that Honda tried to develop way back when...LOL!

As I stated, I thought that looked like a 2-stroke liner/sleeve, but my brain wouldn't let me go there. Maybe the next AR15 rifle I sell should be accompanied with some pics of an 1800's double-barreled shotgun...LOL!

Looks like a South African company sold these. Puzey xtr4 300
Yeah, that would explain why these are being recast and sold today. Maybe I can find a shirt that says "I like Puzey" ;-) haha.

Just thought I should update this thread with an updated Amazon (US) listing for this cylinder kit. https://www.amazon.com/AHL-Motorcycl.../dp/B019030U6G

The seller added a couple pictures to help clarify the differences between the OEM part and their part:

Now, the KLX cam chain tensioner does NOT fit to the cylinder itself. It screws into the cylinder head (not included in the 300 kit above):

Here's a better image showing the location of the primary chain tensioner:

The plug on the cylinder itself works in conjunction with the primary camchain tensioner.

Looking closer into the cylinder from the top, we start to see the spring that fits in the plug and rests against the cam chain guide, providing a little more pressure.

Plug (92002-1621) and spring (92144-1769) shown on the fiche below:

Plug & spring removed from the cylinder:

So it now becomes clearer the problem in using the YF300 cylinder on the KLX250/300. The latter has a larger chain tensioner plug, so we couldn't simply reuse our spring with the Lonchin kit.

The question is whether there is enough metal on the Lonchin YF300 cylinder for it to be machined to accept the OEM KLX tensioner plug. OR... could the YF300 spring be used instead.

From the base view of the two cylinders it appears the cam tower extends further to the front on the YF300 cylinder making for possible problems with gasket seal.

That and the bad location of the center slider spring makes for more work and risk than it is worth over biting the bullet and buying the proper stuff.

If you're looking at this photo:

Note that the YF300 cylinder is actually thicker in the area of the lower camchain plug, when you overlay the YF over the KLX, the difference is less than it appears when looking side by side:

The unknown to me is whether having the plug positioned slightly higher on the guide is problematic. The only sure way of knowing is to install the cylinder and guide and check fitment. That and getting the YF300 spring (which is slightly smaller diameter than KLX300).

I'm trying to get the seller's contact info so we can chat more directly. They could make this cylinder work for us I think.
