Default Air Fuel screw?

Advice ASAP - Getting ready to order the DJ kit for my 300. Do I have to buy and install and fuel screw too? I don't want to if you don't think it's necessary.
Thanks!

No. Just get a cheap screwdriver the right size and put a 90o bend in it near the end. You can then adjust the fuel screw without removing the carb. The DJ kit for the 300 is the go.

OK, great. So I should remove the air fuel cover while I have the carb out?

Where can I find info on how adjust/jet the new kit for my altitude? Thanks!

Mate you don't have any altitude. Try the #132 main jet (largest) first and then work your way back. Needle in the middle position. A little rich is better than a little lean. And yes, pop the cover off the fule screw before you re fit the carb. It's a good time to size up that cheap screw driver mod I mentioned so when the carb' is fitted back up you can adjust the screw easily.

I would buy the t-handle screw from Kouba. You can play with a bent screwdriver, but it a PITA. There aint much room in there, with the t-handle you can get your hand in there and adjust it.
Just my $0.02

On the 300 theres no electric starter so there is abit more room, but for the ease of adjustment the kouba is sooo much better. No messing w/ a tiny screwdriver
