Air filter
Anyone have the luxury of comparing the UNI air filter and the K&N for our bikes? I've got the UNI and its pretty good, but I'm a big fan of K&N products.
im runnin a K&N on mine.. no airbox lid and backfire screen removed from inside the filter mount. this setup requires frequent cleaning in dirty/dusty conditions... but man, what a difference it makes. (sry no uni for comparison, but i cant imagine a foamer would flow air better than a K&N)
I also have experience with both. The Uni will trap more dust, and the flow difference isn't even noticeable, alsothe Uni is easier to clean. I have K&N's with Outerwearson my 150HP Baja bug. The Outerwears make a big difference in trapping dust. They ane not practicle on the KLX.
There was somebody in this forum who stretched outwears material acrossan enlargedair box opening then bolted a square frame over the top to keep it in place. I guess that's one way of doing it.
